3 Days old,
hope you enjoy the pictures, I am trying to put pictures up that are funny, educational and also allow for comparison of puppies next to each other. They are all gaining well, red collar girl is still the smallest, yellow dot girl is the biggest. I weigh them every day, gives me a chance to see how each one reacts to being picked up and being held, some just snuggle, some struggle, others protest loudly, will be interesting to see if each pup reacts the same way each day or how it changes, if it does.

yellow collar girl is determined to find the shortest way to the milk bar, here she scrambles over mom's face
then pushes herself through under the leg - success
Hey sis', are you sleeping yet?
pic that shows the different colors and each pups' collar is visible - wew
A word about safety, I put this toy into their pen this morning, only 30 minutes later when I came back this puppy had the toy around her belly, how she managed to do this I don't know, but it just shows that even something that appears to be safe, sometimes isn't, luckily she is alright and this toy won't come back out until the heads don't fit through anymore.
Hey brother, wanna play?
"Come on, wake up and play with me"
"Girls, I just want to hang out and relax"
Brother and sister
"do you want to play puppy sandwich?"
"This is so cool"
Priceless!!!
"I tell you a secret"
I added a few toys to their pen today, different textures for them to bump into or crawl over, new smells, I have already used different kinds of surfaces, towels, soft blanket today, before that I used fleece blanket also, all this should provide a little bit of environmental stimulation and getting them used to small changes in their environment. I actually watched orange dot girl push the fish toy around, she wasn't playing, just kept bumping into it, not sure if she simply wanted to go that way and didn't mind the slight resistance or if she thought it was a littermate and wanted to snuggle.
I am keeping track of puppies that venture far away from the group and/or sleep away from the group. Don't know if that translates into more independent adults, we will see.
Two of the dutch girls have pink noses (don't know yet if they are true dutch pattern, seems like the white would have to go all the way around, none of them have that). This one looks like she may have some ticking, so it will be interesting to observe the nose pigment come in, hopefully their noses will be all black as time goes by. This can take a while.
