Spider on the wall,
I think this is a Tarantula, not sure if the males are smaller than the females, this one is about 2 inches in diameter, so it's pretty small, has lived near my backdoor steps for a long time, but this was the first time that I saw it up on the wall hunting for bugs where the light is. I have no idea how long those things live, when we moved here 4 years ago I found one the same size near my bedroom patio door, I evacuated it from the property, maybe it came back? I have never seen any bigger ones on my property but have seen some out in the desert that were twice as big as this one. And just for the record, I do not like spiders, but I realize they are beneficial insects and I know they aren't hiding and waiting to pounce on me and even if they bite me it won't kill me. So I tolerate them and try to not get closer than I have to.
